The search for Helsinki Travel Award 2017 winners has started

Helsinki Tourism Foundation has launched the search for winners of the Helsinki Travel Award 2017. The prize winner or winners will be announced on the 26th of October.

The goal of the Helsinki Travel Award is to highlight parties and actions that have had a positive impact on the development of tourism, reputation and customer satisfaction in the Helsinki region. This year the award is worth 10 000 euros.

“Helsinki is the best city on the planet and its potential as a tourist city is enormous”, says Risto Lintula, CEO of the Helsinki Tourism Foundation. “With this award we wish to thank and further encourage people and organizations, who have boldly and courageously invested in activities that have developed the Helsinki travel industry and made our city a livelier place for us all.”

The previous prize winners include Allas Sea Pool, Flow Festival, HEL Tours, Helsinki Design District, Jaakko Blomberg and Löyly. Prices of Recognition have been awarded to Jussi Pajunen, former Mayor of Helsinki and Mia & Kasperi Saari and Pertti Hynninen, the founders of Royal Restaurants.

The purpose of the Helsinki Tourism Foundation is to work towards the progress of the local tourism industry. The foundation supports and enhances projects that help the tourism industry to develop and flourish. The foundation also supports deeds that create co-operation within the industry. One of its operative strategies is to help produce and distribute relevant research results to the students of tourism and to the tourism industry widely.
